PGL is widely recognised as the UK's original and biggest operator of summer camps. In this context our name became known as Parents Get Lost, but we now also operate a programme of family holidays so that parents can come too!
With the help of our staff, we make sure that every year we continue to build upon our success and offer safe, exciting, challenging and fun activities!
£175 per week plus in resort expenses, transport to and from resort from the UK, full board accommodation, uniform, full winter sports insurance, lift pass and equipment hire.
Our Ski Reps are the real front line people in resort who ensure that all the work carried out in preparation for the trip pays off.
We're looking for diplomatic, organised people who aren't afraid to think on their feet and can adapt quickly to situations as they arise. You will ensure that every aspect of the trip runs smoothly for your group of English-speaking school children and their teachers.
In practise, this involves liaising with your hotel, coach drivers, ski school, ski hire shop, evening entertainment venues and the groups' party leader.
One large aspect of a PGL Ski Rep's role is to provide a full evening entertainments programme for each group. This is usually a mixture of non costing 'in-house' events run by yourself, such as a quiz, talent show or treasure hunt, plus the hiring of local facilities (ice rink, bowling, disco etc) if the group require it.
You will be responsible for doing health and safety checks in hotels, checking the quality of our suppliers in resort and you may also be required to accompany teachers and their pupils to the medical centre in the event of any accidents.
Ideally you'll speak German, Italian or French to a competent conversational level. However we still want to hear from you if you don't speak any languages yet are a competent skier/boarder and have previous experience of working with children or young people in a residential environment. These are essential pre-requisites, as are excellent communication and organisational skills. You'll need to have skied or snowboarded for at least two weeks on snow in a European ski resort and be confident to get yourself around the slopes.
Our Ski Rep positions are for the peak weeks of our operating season. You can apply to work for more than one week, however it is a pre-requisite that you are available for the February half term week 11th – 17th February 2017.
Successful applicants will be asked to attend a two-day weekend training/assessment course during October or November 2016 to ensure suitability for the role and a better understanding of the job requirements.
We offer a wage of £175 per week plus in resort expenses, transport to and from resort from the UK, full board accommodation, uniform, full winter sports insurance, lift pass and equipment hire.
