Chalet Sophie is a small exclusive chalet in the beautiful hamlet of Les Brigues, half way between Courchevel 1850 and 1550 and sleeps 10 people. This job is live in, with bedroom and exclusive use of a bathroom. Although it is for one person, there is accommodation for two people and so could suit someone who wants to bring a partner who could then find a job elsewhere in the resort.
The job responsibilities are:
-Plan menus according to a budget
-Prepare and serve full English breakfast, afternoon tea, aperitifs with canapés, three course dinner plus cheese
-Carry out weekly shop for all items
-Ensure that the chalet is fully stocked with wine, soft drinks, snacks for children
-Keep the kitchen clean and tidy
-Telephone incoming guests during the week before their arrival to discuss dietary requirements
-Welcome guests and help with any advice they may need (for example directions for getting to the slopes, booking taxis)
-Ensure that the hot tub out on the terrace is in good working order and liaise with the company that maintains it in case of problems
-Confirm with guests arrival and departure times
-Liaise with Louisa, the chalet concierge cleaner who comes in daily (and keeps the place immaculate)
-Enjoy being there
The owners spend about four weeks of the season at the chalet and rent it out on a fully catered basis to paying guests. There may be weeks when it is unoccupied and so the chef/host would in that case have free time to make the most of being in the resort. Good terms are being offered for the right person for this job. In addition to full board and meals, season ski pass and travel expenses salary is up to £200 per week. The successful candidate may wish to take their own vehicle to Courchevel and use it to carry out the weekly shop. In this case they would be reimbursed at the going AA rate per kilometre.
This is a great career opportunity as it carries responsibility but it is also a hugely enjoyable job and needs someone who will enjoy the challenge.
