typical day
The job description
a typical day in resort

You'll be required to work alongside the Head Chef, in order to produce the exceptional food standards that our hotels are known for. This means getting involved with the design of, and any changes to, the menus throughout the season. We pride ourselves on delivering delicious food to the appetite of a hungry skier, whilst considering a balanced diet.

You'll start by providing a full cooked breakfast, followed by an afternoon tea selection and a delicious four course meal each evening for the guests. You'll also be catering for the hotel staff. But don't worry, you'll get a day and two half days off per week, and so there will be plenty of time to get up the mountain during a typical week too.

As Sous Chef you'll need to support the Head Chef and be ready and able to take control of the kitchen team in their absence. You'll be maintaining high levels of food hygiene, and ensuring the kitchen is in a safe and clean condition at all times.

You'll take responsibility for training new members of staff (and re-training existing ones) in kitchen and service management throughout the season, ensuring that our scrupulous service, organisation and hygiene standards are being met by all.

You'll be involved in stock control and ordering, alongside the Head Chef

And you'll certainly be monitoring and acting on guest feedback - taking a personal pride in the food you produce and taking any action required in order to improve, excel and delight!
