A Typical Day in the Job
We are looking for a host to join our team in the beautiful ski resort of Megeve, France. The job is varied and fun & needs to be done to the highest standard. We are a small, family run company and we take great care of our staff. Please read on to find out more.
We need a chalet host/general assistant to work as part of our winter staff team. You do need to hold an EU passport or have another passport with a french working visa/work permit (unfortunately the permit is not available to UK passport holders at the moment).
The basic job includes housekeeping, washing up, waiting on tables and ensuring our guests have a great holiday but on top of that can be adapted to suit a variety of different skills. For example, can you cook but not sure you want to take on your own chalet - we will need a chalet host who can cook breakfast on the chef's days off, are you looking to step into a managererial role in the future - we are looking for a chalet host who can deputise for the manager on his/her day off, can you speak fluent french - we will need someone to welcome our french guests to apartments, do you have great maintenance skills - we will be looking for someone to focus more on this area etc.
You will be working as part of a team of 15 members of staff split between 3 chalets and will include resort manger, administrator, maintenance person, chalet managers and chefs.
This is a job where you can have a lot of fun and you get most afternoons off to ski as well as days off during the week but it needs to be done to the highest standard. Megeve is a lovely resort with a big ski area. It is not purpose built and is popular with the French so you do feel like you are in France not an extension of Britain! We ensure that you do get to go skiing as much as possible because that is the point of a ski season! We take great care to look after our staff. If you're happy then our guests are happy and most of our staff have remained our great friends.
