We are a small and friendly team looking for a Chalet Assistant to join us at the beautiful Chalet Mur, which dates back to 1860 and sits the beautiful village of St Michael, an unspoiled resort town, brimming with tradition, uncrowded slopes and friendly locals.
English is widely spoken in the area and not only is the skiing fun but the restaurants are inexpensive, it really is the perfect location to work this winter.
The job description
a typical day in resort
The role will involve:
• Menu Planning and Shopping to an agreed budget.
• Providing breakfast and afternoon cake 6 days per week.
• Cooking dinner 6 evenings per week (this may also include kids tea on busy weeks)
• Chatting to guests and helping make sure the have the best holiday ever!
• Ensuring the kitchen and surrounding areas are cleaned daily
• Helping serve meals when needed
• Helping with ad-hoc jobs, especially on transfer days.
Who are we looking for?
what makes you the ideal candidate
Our small team of 3, Clare, Ben & Chris are looking for an experienced Chalet Chef to join us this winter. You will be comfortable providing a 3 course ‘hearty, home-cooked style’ of evening meal for up to 16 guests (average numbers are circa 8-12 per week, outside main holiday dates)
We often have a guest with special dietary requirements – Gluten-Free, Lactose-Free, vegetarian etc so you will need to be happy cooking special meals for them. As we’re a small team we are looking for someone who will jump in to help with other tasks around the chalet too.
Working hours will generally be 7am-10am and 5pm-10pm although at least one day per week will be a full working day to allow time for shopping, cleaning etc.
Still, lots of time to enjoy the mountains!
If you have experience as a Chalet cook or simply enjoy serving good food up to larger groups, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for a very sociable, confident people person who will really get to know our guests, not simply stay in the kitchen!!
Flexibility is also key to be happy in our ‘wee’ team.

Please note our resort is not a party one, while there is some night-life the role may be better suited to a more mature person!
