The job description
a typical day in resort
The day to day role varies, but the Resort Manager takes overall responsibility for the day-to-day activities in resort, and over the course of the week can expect to be involved in all aspects of staff management and customer relationships.
In the run up to changeover day (Sunday) you will process and pass on all relevant guest information to your hosting team, assist hosts with placing shopping orders, and process and deliver guest lift passes for the incoming arrivals. On arrival day, our Managers ensure guests are all welcomed - personally by the hosts at the time of arrival, and by themselves throughout the evening - and make sure they have everything they need for a fantastic stay. You will visit the chalet during the week and at the end of the week to ensure guest satisfaction, and any guest issues throughout the week will need to be addressed professionally and dealt with efficiently.
Resort Managers will oversee the host team in your allocated resort and be responsible for their performance, motivation, welfare and development. We expect our managers to be hands-on and ready to offer assistance and lead by example. You will be required to inspect chalets regularly to check cleanliness is being kept up to standard, and ensure the quality of food being produced (set menu provided) and the service provided by the chalet hosts. Additional duties will include creating host rotas, overseeing chalet budges and expenditure, managing stock control and ensuring compliance with Food Safety & Hygiene and Health & Safety. Occasionally you may be required to cover chalet shifts in the event of absence.
You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationship with in-resort suppliers and partners for guest provisions (for example ski hire outlets and lift pass offices).

We are looking for personable and confident leaders who can keep cool under pressure whilst maintaining a consistently positive outlook. It is essential to be a confident and capable cook, along with being highly organised, efficient, and able to motivate a team to maintain high standards.
Essential Requirements:
• Previous winter season experience operating a catered chalet
• People management experience in a chalet, hospitality or catering environment
• In some resorts driving is essential and therefore candidates must be aged 23+ and have a full clean driving licence, held for a minimum of 3 years.
Good resort knowledge is desirable, and a good level of spoken and written French is highly beneficial.
