a typical day in resort
If you like variety, you have a flexible practical outlook, and you relish the idea of no two days being the same, then please read on! The duties of a Resort Manager are too numerous to list in detail, but we've had a go anyway - they include the following:
· Effectively managing and motivating your resort team (comprising any / all of the following: bar/restaurant/housekeeping Managers, plus maintenance / logistics staff, kitchen teams, hotel hosting teams and chalet hosts. Includes looking after the welfare, mental health, motivation, training and discipline of the staff team in resort.
· Assuming overall responsibility for your guests from arrival at the airport until they check in for their return journey. This means visiting them regularly, dealing with any issues they may have, responding to and providing any special requests, and ensuring all elements of the VIP SKI service are being provided. It also involves a pre-departure phone call to them before they leave the UK. Basically, ensuring that outstanding customer service is provided and that guest expectations are not only met but exceeded. Every. Single. Week
· Maintaining and developing good relationships within resort, with all existing and new supplier and property owner contacts
· Performing effective quality control in the areas of cleanliness, health and hygiene, safety, food and beverage, chalet supplies, budget control, and general levels of service provided in all resort properties. This includes being proactive, and acting on any guest feedback in a timely and effective manner.
· Ensuring all chalets and staff accommodations are safe
· Assisting any resort staff in a practical way, with their duties if required - you may well end up cooking, cleaning, driving or shovelling snow!
· Completing Company paperwork and reporting on a daily / weekly basis
· Managing any resort vehicles and ensuring the successful operation of any in-resort shuttle service, also the collection and distribution of guest luggage and/or chalet supplies, around resort
· Maximising in-resort sales (lift passes and ski hire)
· Liaising with our Logistics Manager to organise and prepare for transfer day each week (takes place on a Sunday)
Who are we looking for?

We are looking for confident leaders who can keep cool under immense pressure whilst maintaining a consistently positive and professional outlook. Unsurprisingly, this list is a long one:
· Previous (successful!) team management experience
· Previous ski season experience
· Previous customer service experience, with an excellent track record – a natural front of house person with superb interpersonal skills
· A proven positive and flexible attitude
· A driven self-starter who is reliable and full of initiative
· Great attention to detail
· A hands-on manager, willing to get involved in a practical way and help anyone on their team
· A team player
· Exceptional organisation and time-management skills
. A good understanding of / ability to speak French would be a distinct advantage
· Smart professional appearance
· Full clean driving licence held for at least two years
· Good knowledge of MS Office
