We are a small, family-run company that has been working in one resort - Val Cenis - for over 30 years; we know the mountain, the village, and the people inside out, and are a real part of the local community.

Val Cenis is a small and traditional resort based on the French-Italian border, in the unspoilt and uncommercialised Maurienne Valley. Run by locals, the resort is made up of two authentic French villages; the mountain is North-facing, which means we have an excellent snow record, and with a high tree line, the mountain - both on and off the piste - is beautiful, uncrowded and has something for everyone.

We do everything we can to make sure our clients have a relaxed, enjoyable, and fun holiday; two things in particular make us stand out: the level of service and the skiing.

The customer service we endeavour to offer is second to none, meaning that roughly 80% of our clients have become regulars, returning every year thanks to our personal service, the quality of skiing in the area, and the atmosphere of the village; many of them feel a part of the place in the same way we do.

We've found our clients not only return for the excellent skiing and service we offer, but also because they have developed relationships between themselves and business owners in the village, and with so many of our clients returning year on year, the experience really is friendly and relaxed.

As well as our customer service, we are unique in offering afternoon Group Skiing (groups led by ESF instructors), which allows our clients to explore the mountain fully (from easy blues to challenging off-piste), safely and at their own pace, in a fun and non-pressured way.

typical day
The job description
a typical day in resort

A typical week starts on Saturday, which is the changeover day. This is the hardest day of the week, which includes doing the airport run, cleaning apartments, and putting clients into their apartments upon arrival.

The rest of the week is much easier:

- Sunday evenings we visit clients to be sure everything is fine and to explain how the week will run for them.

- Mon-Fri afternoons from 2-4.30pm is Group Ski (groups based roughly on ability, led by ESF instructors - we go at the back of the group) then apres-ski down on the piste front.

- Monday night is Bar Night.

- Tues and Fri nights we do another visit to clients.

ideal candidate
Who are we looking for?
what makes you the ideal candidate

We're a small, tight-knit team, and depend on each person to get stuck into the task at hand, whether that's chatting to clients over a drink in the afternoons, cleaning toilets on changeover day, or helping clients explore the mountain safely; we don't expect our reps to do anything we wouldn't do ourselves, and work alongside you in every part of the role, setting the example, offering support, and guiding in any way we can.

We are looking for 6-7 English-speaking reps with EU passports for this season 2024/25 (from mid-December to mid-April), whose role will include:

- Skiing with our clients in our instructor-led afternoon Group Ski, Mon-Fri afternoons.
- Socialising with clients during the week (visits, Bar Night, après-ski).
- Cleaning on Saturdays/airport run/greeting clients.

Being able to ski is not the most important requirement for this role; we are primarily looking for people who:

- Are reliable, flexible, and hardworking
- Are friendly and outgoing, with excellent people-skills
- Have great teamwork skills (you will live and work with your colleagues, so this is crucial)
- Are happy to get stuck in and take initiative
- Can work in a dependable way within a largely informal setting, whose main job is to engage with clients and make sure they have the best experience possible

We’re a small company and rely on return business, which is why our customer service and guaranteeing our clients enjoy their holiday, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, is vital.

our offer
What can we offer you?
why choose us for your ski season

As a company, we offer our team an incredible chance to experience life in a non-touristy and authentic French mountain village, the chance to become fantastic skiers/snowboarders, and really to connect with both clients and locals in a way that we believe is unique. You can get as much or as little as you choose out of the experience, but the opportunity is there to truly develop your skills and also have a great time.

- Living in a traditional French village for 4.5 months, with a brilliant opportunity to become an excellent skier and learn French in a hidden gem of the French Alps.
- Meeting lovely people – both clients and locals – and developing customer service skills.
- Accommodation, lift pass, ski equipment, insurance, travel between resorts in the valley as required, transfer to/from airport at beginning/end of the season, are included for the winter.
