typical day A Typical Day in the Job

As the Head Mountain Bike Mechanic you will co-ordinate with the Bike Programme

Manager to ensure the overall smooth running of the Mountain Bike program within the

French Alps. You will assist in the setup and running of our pro mountain bike taster sessions

from briefing guests to ensuring the relevant safety equipment is checked, handed out and

signed back in, assist in the setup, training and running of our basic bike maintenance skills

clinic, ensure the team of bike mechanics achieve sales targets of pro bike rentals, damage

waivers and other streams of revenue, manage guest damage chargebacks in a professional

but effective way, provide ongoing support and development to the bike mechanic team,

assist the bike program manager in allocating bikes and logistics between properties and

resorts as and in setting up shop fronts/bike garages to maximise bike revenue.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Customer Focus

o Central point of contact & knowledge in resort for all guests; mountain bike servicing

and up sales of specialised bikes

o At the start of season complete all bike setup, servicing & maintenance. Ensuring all

equipment meets with the company’s high standards

o Represent the company in a professional, well presented manner at all times and in

compliance with the company uniform policy

o Manage guest damage chargebacks in a professional but effective way

o You will be required to assist in setting up and running our pro mountain bike taster

sessions from briefing guests to ensuring the relevant safety equipment is checked,

handed out and signed back in

o Assist in the setup, training and running of our basic bike maintenance skills clinic

Operational

o Servicing of company bikes; including repairs to guests personal bikes when required

o Determine & promote local routes appropriate for age & ability AND/OR

individuals/family groups

o Complete and catalogue equipment booking in/out logs

o Ensure weekly admin related to servicing & damages is completed accurately and on

time

o Assist the bike program manager in setting up shop fronts/bike garages to maximise

bike revenue

o Assist the bike program manager in allocating bikes and movements between

properties and resorts

o Provide ongoing training, support and development to the bike mechanic team

Sales

o Bike servicing

o Upsell of our specialised downhill mountain bikes

o Maintain bike stock, ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standard at

all times whilst minimising cost through planning & scheduling replacement

parts/equipment

o Ensure the team of bike mechanics achieve sales targets of pro bike rentals, damage

waivers and other streams of revenue to target

Key Relationships:

o Internal: Customers, Mountain Bike Programme Manager, Activities Manager, Hotel

Managers, Area Managers

o External: Suppliers, local authorities, hotel management
