The job description
a typical day in resort
You will start work around 7am to cook and serve breakfast to your guests at 8am. After breakfast, you will prepare afternoon tea, clean the bedrooms and communal areas and do some preparation for the evening meal.
Afternoon tea is laid out for guests to help themselves to. You're then free to ski and explore the mountains during the day!
In the evening, you will return to work to prepare and serve canapés and fizz before a three course, home cooked meal. It's a relaxed dinner party atmosphere in the evening.
Unlike other chalet companies, you do not have to shop for food supplies yourself. The chalet managers are in charge of budgeting and ordering food and wine so all you have to do is take a weekly stock check and collect it from our in-resort stores.
Who are we looking for?
what makes you the ideal candidate
Personable - you need to be a real people person. Chatting and getting to know guests to make them feel at home.
Professional - we are proud to receive a lot of excellent guest feedback so we set high standards for catering and customer service.
Organised - Chalet Hosting is very hard work and requires a lot of planning and multi-tasking.
Cookery Experience - We will be looking for relevant work experience in cooking, cleaning and customer service. We would recommend attending a chalet host cookery course and can help with arranging this before the winter season.
What can we offer you?
why choose us for your ski season
When you arrive at the resort at the start of the season, we kick things off with a fun hands on training period. You'll spend time in the chalets getting stuck into everything from making beds to baking cakes!
We’re also joined by a chef for practical cooking sessions, where you’ll learn how to prepare every dish on the menu.
You'll also receive a detailed Chalet Host Handbook and a Recipe Book - perfect for those early weeks while you're getting the hang of things!
